• A NEW IMAGE FOR ROVELLATS BRUT CAVA

We also present our new image for Rovellats Brut Cava, the youngest of the Rovellats Reserves, adorned in a blue that better reflects our modern times. This change of image, to a colour more fully identified with a certain vintage, has been adopted while still maintaining the fruitiness and freshness characteristic of this cava. Elaborated solely on the basis of flower must from the Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada varieties, presenting a vintage with two years in the bottle, kept in the underground cellars, and with residual sugar levels of 4 gr./l. The colour is pale straw, with slight golden tones. Abundant small, regular and vertically released bubbles. Intense and clean vintage aroma over lees and with a fruity base.
Delicious and elegant in the mouth thanks to its finely judged balance. A fine accompaniment to seafood and fish. Excellent for cocktails, such as Kir Royal, due to its coupage, or on its own as an aperitif.

  • CHANGE OF IMAGE ROVELLATS BLANC DE BLANCS, VINTAGE 2000

This year, Rovellats BLANC DE BLANCS, vintage 2000, has changed its image adopting a new, sophisticated packaging, according to the line that identifies Rovellats' range of still wines.

The new label, similar to the Rovellats Blanc de Maceració label but with green light hues, is representative of a young wine with fresh and fruity characteristics. The Bordeaux bottle has been chosen for presentation, providing a touch of elegance.

Following the criteria of obtaining the best possibilities from our lands, more long-lived vines, with lower production, have been selected for Blanc de Blancs, ensuring a harvest with higher concentrations of sugars and aromas. The harvest was very good in both qualitative and quantitative terms, with the result that corrections in the cellar were unnecessary, offering a limited production of exceptional quality.

Elaborated solely on the basis of first run juice, of the Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada varieties, together with the aromatic touch of Chardonnay, results in a blend of floral aromas and white fruits of great freshness, harmonised with a potent, complex and long structure in the mouth, reminiscent of the characteristics of a Crianza wine. With a fine flavour, elegant, clean, rounded and with balanced acidity. The colour is a clear and sparkling pale yellow.

A perfect accompaniment for fish, seafood and subtly flavoured dishes, excellent as an aperitif.

Limited production. Total acidity: 6.5 gr/l. Residual sugar: 0.8 gr/l. Alcohol level: 11.5% vol. Bottles 75 cl.

Awards: Peñín Best Wines Guide 1998; Gold Star, Andrés Proensa Spanish Wines Guide '96 and '97; Wine selected by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) for the Atlanta Olympic Games '96.

  • NEW AWARD FOR CAVAS ROVELLATS

Following over 50 years of experience with traditional Penedés varieties and further to extremely careful cultivation studies, in 1993 Rovellats introduced a new member into the family of Gran Reservas, with the birth of a very special and different cava: ROVELLATS CHARDONNAY BRUT NATURE GRAN RESERVA.

Despite this cava's relative youth, it already boasts a long list of awards, such as the Médaille de Bronze (Chardonnay Du Monde- Chaintre, France 2000) that it won this year in the 7th International World's Best Chardonnay Competition, synonymous with prestige and quality on an international level. This prize is the latest in a series of awards won since its first year, such as the Bronze Medal awarded at Vinitaly -Italy 1994, the Gold Medal awarded by Gastronomía s.XX- Madrid 1994, the Gold Star awarded by Spanish wine guide Guía de Oro de los Vinos de España 1995 and many more. It was also a Spanish Olympics Committee Selected Cava for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Made exclusively from flor must, mainly of Chardonnay along with smaller amounts of Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Perellada, this cava is aged for a minimum of three years in the bottle in underground cellars, and has 0.6gr./l of residual sugar.

A very pale straw yellow in colour, this cava has small abundant bubbles which rise to the surface in fine chains. Clean, fresh and fruity aromas of fruits, with flowery and delicate undercurrents. Well structured and well balanced on the palate.

Ideal for an aperitif or for drinking at any time, as its elegance and character allow for this. It is the ideal accompaniment for pâtés, soufflés, and dishes with subtle flavours.
